5 ways to make sure you keep your customers during this troubled time
March 24, 2020
So I've put together some quick short steps to help you guys through the next few weeks.
Can you do videos and send these to clients? You could show them how to do make up or hair etc whatever it is that is your speciality. Not only will this give your clients a chance to experiment a bit whilst they are stuck at home, but it also ensures that you stay to the forefront of their mind and helps to strengthen the relationship that you have built with them.
If you are still trying to operate as usual remember that your clients are there to relax, try to steer conversations away from the current pandemic try to focus on positive topics and reinforce future plans. The last thing you want is to help spread panic and have a client leave feeling worse than when they came in.
Now is the time to push gift cards or vouchers, this can help get some short-term revenue in and secures a client coming back given they have already paid for the treatment. Lots of customers are actively asking for these knowing that small businesses are struggling to cope and wanting to support you.
Communicate effectively with your customers, let them know if you are still open or have restricted hours. Let them know what you are doing to reduce virus spread and be sure that they know you are keeping yourself up to date. Your clients need reassurance from you that you are up to date and on top of the situation as much as possible.
If you sell products make sure these are available online, clients may be looking for anti-stress remedies shampoos etc and if you would normally sell these in-store switching or pushing your online sales are a great way of keeping your clients stocked and revenue coming in.
